Meet the Team

Dr. Brian T. Rust, DMD

Dr. Brian Rust I believe that the relationship between a patient and their dentist is sacred. I understand that people come into our office with all sorts of previous dental experiences, good and bad. I believe it’s our #1 priority to make the patient feel safe, as well as valued and appreciated. In an effort to signify to my patients that respect and reverence I feel toward them and that relationship, I start and finish every dental appointment with a handshake, and a sincere thank you for joining us for their appointment.

Growing up as a son of a dentist, I was regularly exposed to many aspects of the dental field. But it wasn’t until my mid 20’s when I began to appreciate that dentistry at its core is about relationships, between the doctor, and patients and staff. The ability to connect with people is something I’m always striving for and at the heart of a successful dental practice. After studying business at the University of Oregon, I worked in corporate retail for a few years, ultimately finding it to be lacking the personal contact that is central to my values. After a little soul-searching, I decided to give the family business of dentistry a try.

Here I am 9 years into my dental career and loving it more than when I started. Each day I work closely with patients, to help them achieve their goals, and I get to walk away at the end of the day with a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment as a result of those joint efforts. Dr. Rust with his dog Outside the office, I enjoy running and obstacle course races with my good friends. When not doing that, I’m probably taking my dog Cooper to the dog park, or trying to learn which of Portland’s fine establishments offer the tastiest combinations of burgers and hard cider.
